Sorry I am too dumb to post multiple pictures in one post.
We arrived in Daytona on Thursday wondering about the weather but not greatly concerned over it. We heard that Charlie was going to hit the Tampa, St. Pete area and travel on to our north. On Friday we went to the Daytona experience at the race track but they closed early due to the approaching storm. We heard on the radio that officials wanted every one of the streets by 2:00 pm so we headed back to our motel. Later that day this is what we saw rolling in..........................................

Later in the day we saw on the news that Charlie took a fast right turn and slammed into the Punta Gorda, Ft. Myers area and was going to be closer to Daytona than they originally thought, as the night went on the wind started to pick up and by 10:30 the patio door on our room was starting to flex.
The news folk kept saying it would move through rather quickly so we sat tight in our eighth floor room until about 10:45, when all of the sudden it sound like something was rolling across the roof, as we looked out the window you could see the roof blowing off the hotel. We jumped out of bed and shot down eight flights of stairs to the lobby, afraid to use the elevator as you could hear water running down the shaft and spent the next two hours down in the lobby watching it blow through. After finally getting to sleep we woke the next morning to see.........................................

the rental car was not hurt and none of our belongings were damaged. We got to come back home to the poor people of central Florida that is home, say a prayer for all of them and appreciate what you have it can all be gone in an instant.
