aaronb716 Aug 17, 2004 03:36 PM

I have gotten a baby black and white tegu from a local pet store for 45 dollers and the little guy is just great he eats well and it actually really tame. ive been thinking about feeding him other things he eats about 5 crickets a day and eats a little bit of cooked ground chicken sometimes but im not sure how good the chicken is for him, so i was wondering what other foods i can offer a baby tegu... thanks

It will depend on the size of your tegu as to what they can eat. If you are feeding ground chicken you still need to add the calcium and vitamin supplements to it. You can also try mealworms, boiled or poached egg, hissing cockroaches, pinkies, Make sure you are dusting your crickets or any food with a quality calcium and vitamin supplement.
You did not say if you had a columbian tegu or a Argentine. The type will aslo determine a little as what they eat. Good luck.
