breeding info for longnose snakes

sschind Aug 17, 2004 04:09 PM

I just picked up a couple of girlfriends for my male longnose snake (Rhinoceilus lecontei) I'm not sure of the subspecies but was told that they were caught in New Mexico.

I have had my male for three years and he chows on frozen thawed fuzzys. The females still haven't eaten for me but I know I had to use lizards for my male for a while before he switched.

Has anyone had any success breeding them. If I can't get any responses I will just treat them like my corns and go from there.

thanks

Steve Schindler

Treat them like most other colubrids. But from my expirience...mine would not breed as a 1.2. I had to add another male to intice breeding. Just a thought...email me if you want to know more.
