Can gecko eggs be solid or soft?

sykadelik Aug 17, 2004 06:57 PM

I found eggs the other day, they look exactly like tiny chicken eggs, and are the same texture. They are dry as well. I'm positive they are the eggs of these geckos (I'm pretty sure they are geckos, but not sure exactly of what kind.) There are tons of them around this area of Dallas; I think they are either mediterrainian or house geckos, but I'm not sure. Do these types lay wet or dry eggs? I found 4 eggs total, but one I found after I stepped on it . I took them out of my storage closet when I moved so they wouldn't get crushed, and now have them outside in my new closet. (I moved down the street.) If anyone could help that would be great, thanks!

Different geckos lay different types of eggs. Example, Tokays eggs are hard shelled very simular to chicken eggs and leo/AFT eggs are soft shelled and feel like a stale marshmellow when fertle. Try and identify the gecko positively and then you can find out more about these eggs.
