Hello all,I picked up this beauty at the daytona show from evergreen reptiles. She is a hypo tang carrot tail albino. What do you think.

Its just a tangerine albino, all tang albinos have orange on their tails, that doesnt make them carrot tails

just a nice tangerine albino

this a picture of AMgecko.coms Drago, he's a tangerine carrot tail albino

That's a tang albino. It still has gorgeous coloring on the body...but it's in no way an albino or a carrot tail. Albinos are a bit harder to get a solid 'chunk' of carrot in the tail, but that's just normal orange pigment that shows up. Rhachodactylus posted what is recognized as a super hypo carrottail albino...and that animal is probably priced at about $900 or more if not a breeder's holdback (I didn't check the site)

A lot of breeders try to sell ANY animal with orange on its tail as a carrot tail just to get a bit of extra cash. It's been noted many times before here and in leopard gecko manuals that a leo can have some pigment on it's tail. Hopefully this info will keep the same mistake from happening again, or keep others from making the same mistake.

The picture I've attached shows a tangerine (note there is orange on the tail, but only some spots) pictured next to a Super Hypo Carrot tail (not albino or tang). The difference is amazing.

Your gecko is still a gorgeous animal however. And I hope that you enjoy your new leo.

Just so you know I did not call this gecko an albino carrottail. This is something that the customer came up with on their own and I did not misrepresent the gecko in any way.

Thanks.
