Question about pairs

Gecko_LoL Aug 17, 2004 08:39 PM

How much harder is it taking care of two geckos (of the same size) in the same enclosure than just a single one? Would it be overwhelming for me, a beginning herper, to try to keep both animals well-fed and healthy?

I'm just asking because my 3 year old leo died a few months ago because of a stupid mistake I made... but he seemed very healthy before he died. So I'm thinking it might be nice to have two to interact with each other. But I don't want to do it if it's going to be too hard for me to keep track of their health.

Or maybe I could just raise one to an adult and get a second adult if I decide I want two?

If you think I could do it, what tips can you offer on keeping multiple leos together? (besides the issue with multiple males)

Personally i would stick with one, unless you had a 20 gallon or larger tank with tonnes of hides. I would also highly recomend that you get two females instead of a male/female pair! also, may i ask what your mistake with your last gecko was? maybe we can help you prevent it from happening again?
