Leopard Gecko Eggs! Need help ASAP

Slizarus Aug 17, 2004 09:19 PM

Ok, Didn't expect any of mine to lay this season.. now I get 4 within 2 days.. both sets were laid in the sand.
My female today laid eggs, and I got to them while fresh.. wondering if I had any others I flipped over a new hide and there they were, however they were dry.

How long can eggs last on substrate without added humidity?
I got a new hide on Friday and they were under that so they have to be recent.

I wasn't ready for this because I was sure they wouldn't produce and now I've got 4.. I don't know what to do.

Currently they reside in Deli cups in damp peat moss that was treated like vermiculite in an incubator (set in water then squeezed till no liquid came out) that should keep at least the new ones alive till I get an answer.

Many thanks in Advance

So far so good, they're in vermiculite.. the only problem I have now is I hope I didn't turn the eggs a bit when I moved them, didn't think to mark them when I saw them in the cage.. just wanted to remove them and get them into a better material.. We'll see within 2 weeks if any of the eggs go bad, expecting 2 more these will survive now that I'm ready
