That snake looks pretty dark. Is he in the shed cycle?

Here's a more recent photo of one of mine...

Did you produce any dione this year, Terry? I have a pair ready to go next spring, but don't know if I want to keep them? Later...TC.

Wow, how light colorations, can you say from where origin this specimen? I have more darker korean diones, this seems more like diones from China.

Hello, Ivan.

I originally bought a pair of CB babies and their parents from Lloyd Lemke, who brought them back from Seoul, South Korea, back in about 1995. These are the original adults...

The picture you commented on is of a 2002 baby from the original mother and the male offspring that I purchased.

I think many of the Korean dione actually come from N. Korea which is more northerly and maybe a higher elevation. In South Korea they can be much lighter, occuring as far south as Cheju Island. Babies can be a dark or light phase in the same clutch, much like the Chinese dione. The dark tend to have reddish-brown blotches and orange highlights. The light phase tend to have light brown blotches and yellowish highlights. Terry Parks got darker specimens because there were only three females in the first clutch.

Yes, i think so too, our diones origin from N. Korea. I never see diones from S. Korea and this was very interesting - see its fotos. Thanks!
