Is this bad to do? Do you produce weaker babies?
Just wondering before we jump into this project.

If they are unrelated, it shouldn't be an issue at all. If they are, maybe? I don't know if anyone's had weak babies as a direct result of inbreeding...

Someday when I get the female up to size, I plan on breeding her a female high-contrast NERD albino to my normal clark-line albino.
You can really see the difference between the two lines now that there both in the sub-adult 1000 gram range.

From what I've read, in-breeding first generation shows no signs of problems - but that doesn't mean there aren't any. Many breeders breed Dad's to daughters, Mom's to sons and brothers to sisters, but I don't think I've ready anywhere that they breed grandparents to grandchildren. Also, no one has shown any genetic defaults from these offspring, so I'm inclined to think that the only issue, if there is one, would be a shortened life span.
It's good to get different bloodlines, it strengthens the line you're working on. So does het breeding and there are a lot of people who can only afford hets.
