cee4 Aug 18, 2004 11:26 AM

My son caught a small toad and I have it in a 5 gallon tank with half bark and half dirt and fake greenery. He is big enough to eat baby crickets I buy at the petstore but it just occurred to me that he might need UVB or some heat source..I dont know what i could use for small tank without overheating it..Please let me know. Thanks

They don't need UVB lighting, but they would appreciate a full spectrum, for behavior. I like to keep toads no less that 75 F, especially in the winter. They sell 15 watt bulbs that can heat a small tank.
