Big Apple Thermostat Question-please read!

M n R-Reptile Aug 18, 2004 05:23 PM

Hey guys and gals,
I found a unused big apple thermostat that i bought a while back and need to use it on some new cages.
It has a plug for the side that is for night/day lead.
How the heck do you use that? Its a plug that goes into a socket or something and you can unplug/plug it into the side. Anyone know what i mean?
Also I set temp to my desired temps and plug in heat sources from strip into bottom of the unit.
Now what is th little red bar that twists on the bottom for?
In other words how do I set this up, instructions are long gone, lol.
Any help appreciated.
Mike

plu that other plug thing in to a household timer , whenever the timer is in the night (off) position that temp will drop . To change how much it drops just turn that red knob , it's trail and error to figure out how much it needs to be turned.

thanks bro.
Now, trial and error......how many turns to the left, or right? if it is facing me...left to drop or left to raise?

plug it in (mightdrop, timer, everything) .. Turn the timer to the off position and play with the little red thingy , you'll know when you are increasing the night temp because the red light will illuminate brighter at higher temps , when you are at the lowest point it obvisouly won't illuminate at all (unless your herp room is real cold).... as for figuring out the exact temps , better break out your temp gun!

At the lowest night drop setting, it is a 5 degree drop. Adj it increases the difference.
