He's a nice looking lizard!

I think my new male is going to look just like him...more yellow on the throat than on the head.

I have him inside once again, so it was funny to make this observation. While outside, this guy is the ultimate Japanese beetle hunter. While dishing out some mealworms yesterday, I accidentally tossed in a few morphed beetles. Little DP was all over them. I put in several more, and he ate every single one.

One of my veteran females is starting to show more yellow now...she's pushing five years old. The back of her neck appears to be gaining some color. Could be the beetles LOL

In fact I think he has about 4 HUGE grasshoppers as pets now!!

Both the wc females are inside right now, getting a break and making sure they get some vitamins. They are both taming down nicely, and even little DB will let me pick him up without biting on me.

He still looks great, and all 4 are shedding regularly.
I have a good population of crickets, and grasshoppers in the pen. I think he just eats at times other than when I toss them in there. But if one happens to run passed his head, he'll open up and let the bug jump in!
I dumped 25 wax worms in at once and all 3 girls lined up like a buffet and startes chowin em up!

guys and girls, your DB is a studly looking thing already! As far as the girl getting yellow at 5, Zuni is 4 and also is getting more yellow in his neck area all the time.

Geesh we get older and get gray, ehehhehehehehe, gotta TRY ME some BEETLES, they are NATURAL ANTI-AGERS !
