I'm new and so i don't think this question violates any rules. if it does please tell me. I am wondering how to estimate how much an alligator snapping turtle is worth. is there a certain price range for a certain weight etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen hatchlings go anywhere from $20-$45 from turtle breeders over the internet. Larger ones usually go from $3lb. and up.If you do buy one you better be prepared to show proof that it wasn't taken from the wild illegally. Most legal breeders have permits that they send with the turtles they sell. John Richards at turtleman.com could probably tell you anything you want to know about these turtles and the law on them. Steve
