Question - Antifungal Tx for Wood in the enclosures?

I have 2 sticks, and I have soaked them in bleach, and dried in the oven. THey grow a soft fuzz of what I assume is Mold about 5 days after being in the high humidity enclosure

any hints, ideas?

This is a real problem with the humid enclosures. I have found that the harder sandblasted grapevine branches are a lot more resistant to mold. I am thinking that maybe we should try coating the end that will be in the soil. Perhaps a coat urethane or wax would keep the end dry and prevent the mold. I have only seen it on the wood that is in contact with the soil and maybe 2” up. Maybe this would be a good experiment to see what is the most effective. I don’t think I would want to apply any mold inhibitor as it could cause problems for the MHDs.

its the whole piece
it looks neat, but I KNOW its not healthy for my Little Lords and Ladies.

Maybe the Vet can help me out, he would know what was safe

I agree that the grapevines have been the ones to NOT get this

but i loved the grain of these pieces of wood
oh well, money wasted, lesson learned
