I'm getting myself a pair of hypos (haven't heard of amels in Canada) and would like to compare the looks. Solid red sounds lovely!

Hi Katt -
The amel gene in pure everglades is supposed to be traced to the Marcia Lincoln bloodline. There's been alot of cooks in the kitchen with that bloodline over recent years so they may have mucked some of it up. The parents of this 03 aren't homozygous for amel so I'll use this pic to show you an amel. Good luck with your hypo everglades Katt.

That's pretty darn red looking. Absolutely beautiful! Just when I thought glades couldn't get any more beautiful!! Sure wish Canada had these and my ultimate albino yellow rats.
I would love to see more pics of your 'glades.

Hi Terry.....Those are some awesome red snakes you have there! Have you ever given any thought to possibly breeding any white-sided glades with those beauties? I have dreams of a white-sided red snake (a "peppermint stick" LOL) but unfortunately have NO possibility of doing my own breeding program. Hubby is definitely NOT a herper....sigh......oh,well, a girl can dream! Love those amel glades!
Good question. This pic might answer your question. I don't know how the ghost glades turn out as adults. I think it must depend on the stock that was used to produce them. I would like to get the gene into my Marcia Lincoln bloodline which is carrying the amel gene and continue from there. Since I don't rush or push babies to breed, it will take awhile to see how far the genes will go.
