Eggs Hatching Right Now!!

carraig Aug 19, 2004 04:35 PM

Okay, when my Alli mom laid eggs, I didn't think they had much chance to hatch. She laid 6 eggs, and I was told by the local pet shop that if they kept their white color longer than 24-48 hours, that they were fertile. Well, nearly 3 months later, 4 of the eggs have gone bad, but there are 2 left, and one of those just hatched. This baby is really small, and I've been calling around but can't find pinheads anywhere. I can special order them if I want a 1000 and want to wait 2 weeks, but the baby will be dead by then. So what about other food like ants?

Thanks,
Carraig

They won't usually eat ants and it takes them about a week to finish absorbing their yolk sack. So as long as you provide water he can last awhile. Petco's often sell flightless fruit flies if there is one in your area you can check this out. If you've got a net you can sweep grass and bushes and this will usually get you lots of little flies and spiders for your al.
