ok, call me Stupid
why would anyone cup open an egg?
and is this how/why the BEAUTIFUL baby came out the way she did?
She is BEAUTIFUL, I have never seen anything like her before.
now I think I know how y Daughter feels about Pythons in general.
are there others that look like her? or is she unique? I know she is not common

Congratulations Ralph!
ECB, lots of people CAREFULLY cut eggs open a little early with no apparent ill effects. Notice that Ralph has separated the shell from the membrane with the veins that is still intact. I suppose with a prospect of this magnitude he wanted sneak preview and also some feel it is safest for the babies to help them cut out some times. I've got much less important eggs 4 days off and don't know if I'll be able to wait them out or not.
Cut them to help them get out
And that to me looks like a snowball. Which is VERY expensive and VERY rare!

Nope, nobody is going to call you stupid.... Everybody learns new stuff everyday!
Many breeders cant contain their excitement or patience and since there are records of Ball Pythons coming out at day 55, it doesnt do them harm if you cut open the eggs at Day 55.... Also... Many do cut the rest of their eggs once one has pipped.... Ralph has been doing this for soo long... Hes producing many types of Ball Pythons, and knowing him, he probably has quite a few new morphs hidden in the dark room, like few other Ball Python breeders do..... Can you honestly tell me that you can wait for a clutch from something new and not explainable to hatch at day 60-62??? I dont think I can
Hell, I know with my normals, I cant wait past day 55 for them to pip out......
Nope, the cutting of the egg at day 55 has nothing to do with how a baby looks once it comes out of the egg... Its definitely a Leucisitic.... As far as I know, there are quite a few Leucisitic Ball Pythons, just different types.... I believe Dave or Tracy Barker did a posting on the Leucistic Ball Pythons and if I can remember right, they claimed there is 2, 3, or 4 different type of Leucistics???? Someone correct me if Im wrong..... I may be wrong, but I believe Ralph's Leucistic is the only known Type A Leucistic???? Im not sure about NERD's or Peter Kahl's Leucistic Ball Pythons. Again, please rebuke my comments if Im wrong here...
Again, Congratulations on your biggest hit! Midas is definitely smiling upon you!
