California King ....Pinstripe

RichH Aug 20, 2004 08:39 AM

I have been working with 4 groups of California Kings now for over a dozen years. Still my favorite kings to work with. Groups maintained include pinstripes, reverse stripes, spotted yellow chocolates and a mottled phase high white group.

Every now and again I produce a few that look like the sdults.

Crappy pic time!!!!

None of our babies came out the solid stripes like that. Very nice, how is the white? Is it pretty white or creamy yellow? Hard to tell from the pic.

Don, my pics are as bad as my eyesight and my camera. I need to upgrade both this season.

I have been working with high whites for sometime now. They are very white as I have been culling my stock for over a decade. This particular project/line throws 2-3 like the one pictured a season. This season I ended up with 2.1. Many others produced though not as defined as these 3 but nice in their own right.

I included a pic of the female the one pictured came from.

I curently keep 3.3 high whites and all but 1.1 come from rick at Renegade Reptile. I picked the whitest every year for a couple yrs. Two of the males are an intense bone white on top w/ a little creamyness toward the belly and the head. I personally have never seen one that didn't have a little of that. The other 1.1 that didn't come from Rick came from Herp Hobby shop in Florida. I took a chance on a pair they posted figuering they would not show up looking as white as they did in the pic. Well I was wrong they were whiter and seen to get even brighter as they age. Sorry for the long post just get a little excited about out high white project. Here is a pic of one of the babies our pair from Rick threw this year.
