Why are rats so much more expensive? Do they taste better to the snakes or something? I'm just curious...

2) Neonate Black Rat snake (Het for Lic Stk's) - Frankie
3 & 4) 2 Bairds Rat snakes - Rosa and Jose
Rats are more expensive because they are bigger, require more space for breeding/raising, and cost more to feed/water. They are better for your snake nutritionally.
how are rats better for your snake? just more nutrients per gram or what?

I dont know the exact differences between them nutritionally, but I do know that rats have more usable body/muscle than a mouse does. Also many ppl have noticed that if they feed 2 snakes of the same species and approx same age, one on mice only and one on rats only, the one on rats will grow more and fill out faster than the one eating mice. This is especially true for Ball Pythons which are very picky eaters.
