Lighting question

dragonbirds Aug 20, 2004 01:21 PM

I have a lighting question. I am using the powersun MVB on my Chams and would like to use it on my dragons. My problem is this : I have a stand that hold 3 60gal tanks stacked just like you would see in a pet shop. The MVB would be way too hot in such a small area, I think. Is there another bulb that would be as good as the powersun. I want to also have a regular flourescent light just for extra light.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Shannon

the problem is that MVB lights do not put out the same heat as a regular incandescent. They make 60W 100W 160W and 250W. different manufacturers have different outputs. I would look at westron bulbs. If you find one that is close in heat output but is on the hotter end of the scale, you can always have it turn off for an hour or so a day to prevent overheating. you may also want to look at the new zoo-med 10 coiled florescent that puts out 30 microwatts
