A couple o' questions

Hi, I'm new here to dart frogs but I have been interested for quite some time. I've grown tired of my unactive pacman and want to try something a little more entertaining. My uncle recently gave me a 30 gal aquarium and i plan on housing around 4 or 5 tincs. Question 1.) Is it necessary to have a pond for the frog to climb in if the humidity is over 80%? I've read they dont need it but want to be sure. I had a problem with my pacmans false bottom because after a short while i had insect larvae in the water and it looked like a mess from the outside. i was planning on just using gravel this time around. Question 2.) If i buy plants from say home depot or target or walmart or something, is there a certain timeframe i need to follow for the pesticides and fertilizers to work themselves out? Question 3.) This one is prolly answered much moer easily, but how do you know how much to feed your frog(s)? is there a certain amount? Will they overeat (not a problem with my pacman)? Should there be a constant supply of flies inside the terrerium? Sorry for such a looooong post, any answers or insights would be much appreciated. thanks.

I'm not exactly an expert, but i have done a lot of reading up on darts, so i'll try my best!

1.) Is it necessary to have a pond for the frog to climb in if the humidity is over 80%? I've read they dont need it but want to be sure. i was planning on just using gravel this time around. Question

>> Yes, they should still have a pond, even if they dont use it all the time, they should still have the option.

2.) If i buy plants from say home depot or target or walmart or something, is there a certain timeframe i need to follow for the pesticides and fertilizers to work themselves out?

>> I would say about a month shoud do it, it depends on how much water you give the plant (more will help "flush" its system faster) and where it is in the house (temp light ect...) make sure to wipe down the leaves with a warm cloth when you get it, they can have some nasty stuff on them!

3.) This one is prolly answered much moer easily, but how do you know how much to feed your frog(s)? is there a certain amount? Will they overeat (not a problem with my pacman)? Should there be a constant supply of flies inside the terrerium?

>> you should feed them as much as it takes to maintain a good steady weight. I knows thats a vague answer but it just takes a little bit of exparamentation, try feeding them as much as they will eat in 5 min, with a bit left over. make sure you put slices of fruit near where you relese the flies so they will stay near there and your frogs can find them easily.
