How long should one wait before offering a neonate food?

saunch Aug 20, 2004 02:40 PM

Just had some hypo's hatch and was wondering how long to wait before offering them their first meal?
Thanks to all for the great support and help.

I have talked to some breeders, and they say it is ok to feed right out of the egg, but I'm no pro. Derek

Your best bet is to probably wait for the hatchlings to go through their first shed. Most all babies will have some yolk reserve to live off of for several days or even weeks before they go through their first shed. After that first shed go ahead and offer the food of choice.
