Turtle Tank size

sumo Aug 20, 2004 07:52 PM

Hell right now i have two 5 inch turtles in a 20 gallon long tank. I was wondering when I should go and get a 55 gallon tank. Please tell me how long they should be before I go and get the 55 gallon tank set up.

Thank You

Need more information...basking turtles need less space...some turtles need more water...some, more land.
I keep lots of turtles of about 5" in 20g tanks, and they're fine.However...
At the size you are talking of, using a 55 cant hurt.
another option...a 33g long.
Same footprint as a 55, but not as high.
Saves room.
