AFT BABY DROPPED ITS TAIL!! HELP!!!

doubleok Aug 20, 2004 10:49 PM

I have 2 aft babies and one of them just dropped her tail. I immediately took her out of her cage, and put her in a Kritter Keeper...she's only about 6 weeks old and that's all I had. I have some other AFTs that I'm feeding baby food, and since I know that she lost a lot of food/water when she's autotomized, I fed her a small amount of that. I put some crickets in there with her with a small water dish. I feel like I missing something. She's so small but she was gaining a lot of weight before she dropped it. I also have a heating pad underneath the kritter keeper so as to keep the temps up...how high should I keep them. PLEASE HELP...I need to make sure I help her through this the right way!!

Just treat it like a normal gecko but give it food and water a little more often than the rest until it's tail grows back. It will look different and not as beautiful as the first tail though.
