New Leos

snkeyes Aug 20, 2004 11:01 PM

Hey all,

I just brought home my first 3 leos tonight. I have a 40 gal set up 4 hides, food dish, water dish and seperate calcium dish. temps in the mid 80's and paper towel bedding. Do I need to give me a day or so before feeding or anything to that affect?

Thanks

My leo didnt eat the first day she came home because she was already fed. But it doesnt hurt to try and feed them. If your using crickets, dont keep them in there for over half an hour because they can cause a lot of stress on the leo.

I agree,

It will not hurt to try to feed them however I have heard cases where it took upwards of 4-5 days before new leos will eat, or at least eat well. Give them time to get use to their new enclosure and dont rush them. They will eat in time.
