My 04 cal king babies--PICS!

Snake_Charmer Aug 21, 2004 02:08 AM

Well here they are, all 9 of 'em. They've all shed, and 5 have eaten. I have sexed them twice by popping, but admittedly I suck at that, although I got them all right last year. I will probe them soon to be 100% sure. Haven't decided if I'm keeping any yet, probably not as I have too many as it is and 2 mosaics currently on the way lol. I apologize for the crappy photos.
Enjoy!

Here's Dad, banana king. Hard to tell from the pic but he's a BIG boy.

She's quite dainty in build compared to Arthur, and she's a year older. Arthur is the ONLY male she will breed with, I've tried several and she rejects every one but him..even tried to make lunch of a couple of them! They are both teddy-bears when handled.

Nice babies, some look like mommy and some like daddy, and some in-between. Gotta love breeding aberrancies, it's always like opening Christmas presents when they hatch!

Thanks Kerby!
Yeah it is like X-mas! This is what, *counts fingers*, the 4th year now for these guys and all the babies have been top notch. I held 1 nice female back in 02, and 2 males in 03, and a male and female pair back last year, and they're all beuts now.
I usually don't keep that many offspring from a single pair, but every year I say: 'Well, if they throw a so-&-so looking one I'll keep it", and the buggers have delivered almost every time!

The male I kept from last year is an almost perfect reverse-stripe looker, there was a female in that clutch like that too, not quite as clean, but she croaked unexpectedly (only one, who knows why...figures huh?). I was hoping for more like them this year but unfortunately no luck. Theres always next year to look forward to though!!

Thanks again!
