very nice??? i have a few quetions though because you have intrigued me to build a set-up like that because with my JCP on its way i would like to get a rat colony going. heres the questions-how did you fasten the hardware cloth to the tub's lid? did you just use washers and like nuts and bolts? Also the food holder how are its sides fastened to the hardware cloth? and with the tub do you have any problems wtih rats chewing on the sides or bottom of it?
thanks

I just used bolts and washers to fasten it to the lid. The food holder is held in place by the wire that comes when you buy the hardware cloth. What i did was cut a rectangle out of the cloth and cut squares out of each corner(leaving the wire were i cut). I used the remaining wire to fasten the sides. It was actually quite easy and i only poked myself once. That stuff hurts!!

Have you had any problems with your rats chewing on the little ridge that goes around the inside of the tub?
No i haven't but i have only had these up for a short time. I will inform if such an occurrence arrises. But so far it seems to work well.
