I have the chance to buy a trio of sikorae sikorae,as anyone who has read my posts before will know I have recently lost my female and am left with a lone male, my question is can I house them all together or not.

i am not sure bout putting two males together, but i would make sure they go thru quarantine before trying anything...

The trio are not newly wild caught, the person selling them has had them for quite some time in fact one of the females is a youngster from the other two.

i dont know what to say for sure, but i am thinking about buying a second male pietschmanni and putting him in a tank adjacent to the one with my current trio, seeing if there is any communication. if there isnt any aggression between them thru the two tanks, i am going to try out housing them together. basically, the reason for it is to try to induce some mating. i figured introduction of a second male might make the two more territorial, therefore more possessive of the females. however, i do not wish for any harm to come to either from fighting. i would say maybe try the two tanks thing once youve quarantined them, that may give you a clue as to what their temperment will be.

i would definatley quarantine them. the only thing i dont like is mixing diffrent pairs together. here is my reasonif you get a disease that your new pair isnt affected by, it might kill your old male. also I have had bad luck with multple males. they dont fight outright they just let the submissive one not eat as much. i also feel that females do the same thing. i would after they are in quarantine, put the baby female with the male so you can have 2 pairs. this is just my opinion but i lost a male ebanui and a male sikore sikore like this. I also had two male sikores sikores start fighting when my "female" turned into a male. intersetingly enugh, my male s sameit did not fight with my male sikores.
