I have a fat tail gecko and am interested in getting a leopard. My question is "Are they compatible enough to live together in the same tank?"

I have a fat tail gecko and am interested in getting a leopard. My question is "Are they compatible enough to live together in the same tank?"
no herps should be kept together
they live in "very different habitats" (Kerr, Tom, Geckos, Barrons;1995)
Fat tails are from Africa
Leos are from Afganistan
Fat tails also tend to be a bit more agressive. Pet stores tend to have a bad habit of keeping the 2 species together, but petstores tend to have lots of bad habits. To avoid any problems, it is best to keep all species seperate. In the long run, you will end up spending less money due to less vet bills.

Parts of your post is correct. No fatties and leos are not compatible. BUt as for them being aggressive! Thats just not so. What your probably noticing is Wild caughts at your local pet shops. In fact Captive bred Fatties are some of the most Docile animals I have ever had the priveledge of working with!! Hands down they Super Tame!!!
Just didn't want people to misunderstand me.
If you're buying from a Pet store, you should expect the AFT to be WC. I bought one from a pet store - the ONLY pet store I trust! - and he was very definitely WC. If I didn't handle him everyday, he was MEAN - he'd strike at me when I'd try to pick him up, so I'd have to go through a very complex process of picking him up, after which he was okay.
Just my story time.

No animal of different species should be housed together. And as for the fatties, every animal has its own personality, WC or CB. There has been records of WC taming down more than CB. It just depends on the animal. Each individual is different.
The WC fatties was what i meant. Most of the time AFTs are WC and mean as HELL! I had a pair of CBs and they were the best. I wish i hadnt sold them.....
anyway...
dont mix species!!!!!!!!
