scratched eye

beardiedragon Aug 21, 2004 07:44 PM

not that this has happened to me, but I saw a BD at daytona that was marked down due to the fact she was blind in one eye. The guy told me the male had probably scratched it and he did not notice it soon enough. So can anything short of eye surgery be done if a BD gets a scratch accross their eye even if it is caught immediately?

Ouch!!! We had one of Bettys cats get ahold of one of ours when it was younger. We got the dragon out of its mouth but not before a fang had punctured through the head near the eye. A couple of vet trips and plenty of neosporin and baytril and it finally healed (took about 4 months). She doesn't have full vision, I think she sees shadows out of it, but it's better than what the vet predicted. Anyway I guess my point is that they can heal better than anybody thinks they will sometimes.
