Not sleeping in the same location?

___chameleon Aug 21, 2004 10:35 PM

Hey guys here one for you. I have a year old ambilobe panther. This past week he has started doing the strangest thing. For the past 3 months (ever since I got him) he has slept in the same place every night. But this past week he has fallen asleep in a different location every night. Tonight he fell asleep hanging on the green 1 inch by 1 inch plastic mesh that hangs in front of the right side wall of the cage towards the top. Literally vertically sleeping???!!!! So weird, could this be something to worry about?

Im no expert but maybe hes just getting restless? How big is his cage that he is in? Or he just could be trying out new spots that could be better =)

big, 36"w 18"d and 48" tall guess he is hunting for a new spot? any other ideas?

My female veileds slept in the same spot for about 3 months before they ventured around, maybe it's a comfort thing?
They now sleep in different places almost every night, but will return to the place where they slept the first three months at least 3 times a week.
One of my females is like those people that sleep anywhere...she leans up against the corner posts of the cage, hangs onto a branch with her back feet and hangs on the screen by her front, and she has also slept completely on the screen.

She's quite healthy, I don't think there's anything to worry about with your guy...

I wouldn't worry about it. Luna usually sleeps in the same spot for a week or so, sometimes longer, and then moves to another. She will sometimes do the screen hanging thing, too. Doesn't look comfortable but she doesn't fall!

Enjoy the quirkiness of these creatures

My male just started doing that, he slept in the same spot for months now he is sleeping wherever.
