What a coincidence you should ask. I've been looking for one and finally located a male through Frantz Herpetological. Tried going through Pythonpete because he is in the same city as I am, but he said he's not breeding blackheads anymore. Was directed to Frantz through other people's recommendations and he has been great to work with. Can't really speak to the point of him producing the "finest" blackheads, but, as I said, he did come highly recommended. Hope this helps!

The captive selection is still too limited to really start tagging any breeder as "the finest".

Since the captive gene pool is so limited, any breeder who gets any babies has something very valuable.

On my part, I'll admit that my post is a touch self-serving. This morning I noticed my adult pair of black heads breeding. We had a storm and a rapid drop in temperatures here and I think it spurred some activity. Hopefully I'll be able to offer babies next year.

Black Heads are very cool snakes. Get some.

Split Rock Reptiles has a good batch of 2004 Black Head hatchlings. Several pairs are eating two thawed rat pinks per week and are ready to travel.
