TexHerper Aug 22, 2004 07:52 AM

Does Anyone have an idea how much captive bred genetic granite baby balls are running these days? Don't see many in the classified addds.

I have heard some say that a few breeders have been selling their genetic granites for $1500 ea. But the ones I have seen for sale that are genetic Granites have been in the $3-$5k range. With the new morphs being produced from Genetic Granite Crosses you can imagine the prices will be going higher. We hatched out a clutch of animals that everyone agrees are genetic granites but are also possibly a new line of cinnamon or something similar. We will be proving them out next year with the only male from the clutch. We had a clutch of 1.4 hatch out in May. If you have any questions please let me know.

I forgot all about that one he had for sale. It was a yearling female if I remember correctly. Amir checked my babies out in June and agreed they were the real deal. I can't wait for my male to breed this coming season. We will hopefully be producing more of him and who knows what else we will get when we breed him to Pastels, Ghost, and some females that we believe are Yellow Bellies.

$250 in early June. It's definitely a true granite. I'm glad I got her with the higher pricing of late!

I fished mine out of a big vat of 04 imported hatchlings for $12. From the description I once read in a previous genetic or 'true' granite post I don't doubt that it is genetic.

If I remember right, they should be dominant or codominant, right? I'm hoping maybe that the odds just weren't with me on this guy's first clutch.

Here are the two females he breed with.

Here's the first clutch from the first female. As you can see, nothing too different here (the dark one hatched a week before the last one and is in shed here). It's my first clutch so I'm very happy anyway! They are so darn cute! The eggs from the second female still have a month and a half to go before hatching, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. I just thought that it would look nice combined with a pastel...
