Do burms always need a full spectrum light?

make_urself Jun 24, 2003 05:46 PM

I have an under tank heater and a light would prolly just over heat my tank. Do i need a full spectrum bulb or do the snakes naturally produce the Vitamin D3 without them?

You do not need a full-spectrum light for any snake. They can live just fine without it as long as the room is some-what light during the day and dark at night. That way the snake knows it's night and day, better for feeding and activity. (that make sense? :D )

Heat-lamps and lights usually just dry out the cage more. So as long as you have an UTH, it will be fine to have no light.
