Has anyone else in reptile sales heard anything about this RECENTLY?

I have a customer with a Dumeril Boa that her vet has diagnosed with it.

The vet stated that he has seen a rise in cases this year.

Drop some posts and let me know please!

It's a very contagious viral disease that does not always show symptoms and can be carried and spread amongst seemingly "healthy" snakes. The end result is always death after months or sometimes a couple years of neurological coordination loss and muscular problems. I haven't seen this since the early 90's, but this is certainly not to say that it hasn't existed. I'm sure it has. I think the only way a vet can detect it is through organ biopsies, but I may be confusing this with "Burmese Disease". I am really just going by memory of what I have read in the past here. I may have quite a few things incorrect. I welcome any corrections from those that are more familiar with this disorder.

It isn't "Ideas" that fail or succeed,... it is the "Sytstems" which are instilled to launch and sustain the idea that either fail or succeed.>[Me.]

I know what the disease is. I know it's not real common, but is it making a come back?

As far as burmese disease, does it affect pythons & boas?

I think it affects all boids and possibly other genre's. I have seen no marked evidence personally that it is making any kind of comeback. I myself haven't seen it in years. Though I am not saying it isn't out there. I'm sure it is. But I have seen nothing to indicate that this is in any way epidemic or rampant.

I spoke with the owner of the dumeril tonite.

She told me that putting him on worm meds he was doing better.

She bought 2 fuzzies to force feed him.

She called me an hour later and stated that she forced the first one but he ate the second one on his own.

Things are looking up!

I'll keep you posted.
Thankx
