I just bought 150.00 dollars worth of rats from a local breeder(california who advertises in the classified)I called him, and he said he had to kill the rats first and that it took at least 5 hours to freeze,I was happy to hear that,fresh meat,so I met him 5 hours latter.He told me to meet him by a liquor store in his neighborhood.That should have been some red lights but I never gave it a second thought.(HERE'S WHERE I SCREWED UP)I open the box GLANCE over the rats to see if they where all there,they where packed real neat and idividually frozen in zip lock bags.After I GLANCED over the rats I close the box and hand him the money,and shake hands.I drive ONE BLOCK away (less than five minutes) into a gas station.Something told me to inspect the merchandise better.The rats where HORRIFIC they had feces all over their coats,and where obviously frozen a long time because of the freezer burn and their eyes where all white.They looked absolutely FILTHY!!!I called him back and his number is busy.I waited a whole hour at that gas station trying to contact him.I left a pollite message stating that, I wanted to return the feeders and that I would happily pay him for his troubles.NO REPLY IT'S BEEN 3 HOURS LATTER and still NO REPLY.I GET STRAIGHT HOME AND THROW THEM IN A DUMBSTER.Noway would I feed them to my animals.I would post the name of the company but I don't want my post to get yanked.Oh well,I guess it can happen to the best!Let me tell you something,IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN.

What a scandal! That sounds like this guy has some kind of a racket going on. Were they all smelly and foul? It sounds like they are old and were probably taking up space in his ice box, and probably needed to unload them. Jeez! well, I hope you can get the guy to refund you some of the money for the rats, but I almost doubt that he will after what you said; he didn't reply to your message or calls. Well, this kind of stuff serves as a lesson for all of us. We must all be weary of the quick deal.
Sorry that this guy took advantage of you like that. He's a bum!
