The best calcium source I've found.

Calcium aspartate anhydrous.

I have been using for myself and also on a tortoise given to me that was in very bad shape from lack of calcium. The tort improved dramatically and quickly, and I have noticed some very postive improvements in my health as well. My back has stopped aching and a bone spur I had in my right heel has not bothered me in 5 months.

The only thing is, it's a bit expensive to give to a whole herd of tortoises. I would mainly recommend it for humans and the occasional really calcium-deficient tortoise.

No, I'm not involved in selling it, I just thought I'd share the info. I think it is the real deal.

Calcium ascorbate has the added benefit of Vit C but is more expensive. Lactate, citrate and gluconate are comparably priced
