The Striping in the San Diego Gophers is a simple receive gene . If you breed a a Striped San Diego gopher to a normal blotched San Diego you will get all normal offspring but will have the gene hiden in them .
The Striping in the Pacific Gopher is dominate . If you breed a Striped Pacific to a totally unrelated normal blotched Pacific the offsprings will all come out Striped .
I'm not bagging on Pacific Gophers because I like them both .
People take short cuts with the Pacific stripping gene and cross it with Annectans to get quick $$$. I dont like it !!!
