tv shows are so bad

CrazyCodyKadunk Aug 23, 2004 04:01 AM

ok i was in chat when some one said there was a conda show animal planet. well they had a couple shows on about anacondas promoting that stupid anaconda movie. any ways they had that one stupid guy on there. i cant remember his name but the stupid guy was all over the amazon finding tame tree boas and towns in the middle of the river. at the end of the show they guy finds a large anaconda. he chases after is threw ancle deep water then u see he jump from a hill in to arm pit deep water on this snake. then the guy is "fighting" this snake and there is camera angles from every where when suddenly WHAM!!! matrix style everything stops and the cameria gose around. i could not beleave this was a show. as he is "fighting" this snake the whole time he is going under water and the snake is not rapping arounf him but trying to swim away and then he lifts the snake over his head and brings it to land. u could see the snake was very thin and did not bite and just kinda looked around.

after this show came another show which had renee on it and some other stupid guy(was not jesus but they showed him too) . i dont no who this guy was but he said he had an anaconda he shot that was 25 feet long and 3-400 pounds but it was only an estamit. it also said anacondas get over 30 feet and a quarter of a ton.

i cant beleave how bad these shows are. they say some good stuff then a bunch of bad stuff and show staged shots like an anaconda no bigger then Annie on top of this dead ant eatter that was like the size of a huge dog and the snake was trying to crawl away from it. they also showed an anaconda rap around a caimen in th middle of the jungle no where nere water. they also showed skins that where 25-30 feet long and that was supposed to be proof of size.

i dont know any more. i have just bin mad about anacondas lately from wed sites and tv shows just giveing out stupid information and showing snakes in poor health and being held the wrong way for a picture. something has to be done to help these great animals out.

Cody I was thinking the same thing last night when dad and I were watching it. Then Paul Hamm was on floor, so i had to switch back and forth between the gymnastics and anacondas. The two don't really go together other than I bring my anaconda TO gymnastics with me. Cody, are you finally taming the wild yellow? hehehe. That thing's just evil. Good post, talk with ya soon.

CrazyCodyKadunk Aug 23, 2004 07:49 PM

i yook my yellow out today and he did not hiss or bite he just sat in my hand for a while before i put him back. i wish i could say the same about my afrock who could possible be the smartest snake i own.

That fools name is Austin Stevens. I do not like him, he is just after good shots and money. The bigger conda was actually a captive animal and he was out there splaching around like a moron. Have you seen his stupid show about the king cobra? He also said that the anaconda was about 17'. I really doubt that!! Maybe 10-11'. It hought that we talked about that fool on here a few eeks ago. It may have been on a different forum though.

i have not seen this guy in any other shows. the conda he had could have bin about 12 maybe 14 but the snake was in poor health. also something i did not say in the earlyer post was he found a lance head or fer da lance viper and maybe it out to be the most evil snake on the planet " this snake bites hundreds of thoughsands of people" he also had a bad grip on the snakes had hurting the snake. he also did not wonce say how people get bit and that most the people that get bit are bitten at night walking barefoot.

Just a comment on animal planet and the discovery channel-

It seems they've gone the way of ratings grabs instead of informing. I love watching informative shows about wildlife, but it seems everytime I turn on DSC there's another show with people arguing about how they're going to build some piece of machinery.

Also, have you guys seen all these shark and crocadile shows where they try to build artificial animals? Just show and tell me about the real animals, who cares about your stupid robot?!?!

` I try not to expect too much from TV shows about snakes (in fact any TV shows). After all, there aimed at people who don't know snakes from shoe laces.
` I just try to enjoy the pix of foreign lands, and the animals are nice to look at, too. Even the staged, and inserted pix are nice. Anymore, I don't react when I hear baloney about snakes, on TV anyway.
` But, I really loved the sequence of him falling out of the tree with the large Boa. That snake looked like it was prepared to be fairly non aggressive, up in that tree. Once he dunked it, the snake really changed its attitude.
` I think it is good for the general public to see that snake, the Tiger Rat, and the baby Green, become very aggressively defensive without actually attacking. There may even be a few folks watching that who can figure out what is happening. Showing the Green biting him in trying to get away, and him not being harmed, may cause some in the general TV audience to re think their preconceptions.
` Nah, probably not.
`
` As far as helping out the exploited animals, or anything else up against profit, just remember the Golden Rule: " Those who have the gold, make the rules."

` Don't EVER doubt it.

` Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I agree..no matter how bad these shows are..great shots of snakes so i love to watch them. I really really liked that anaconda special with the 2 anacondas it showed. I liked the city on the river and that alone made the documentary for me...you guys cant say that wasnt awesome.

Justin Stricklin Aug 23, 2004 09:44 PM

The only 3 people who are actually doing anythign to help out on educating/conservation are Mark o'shea, jeff corwin, and of course Steve Irwin. Mayeb a few others, but am not putting to much thought on waht I'm saying right now. I thought it was very stupid to make that stunt with him jumpin.. I mean falling out of the tree with the boa. Austin also made a showsoemthing like 7 deadly strikes or something where he got bit by some kind of little sand viper (sp?). He is just after money. Everyhting now days is about money. I liked O'sheas anaconda show alot htough.

` It really looked to me like he fell accidentally, with the Boa. I've seen that show a few times, the last few, I watched his footing, in that tree. I think he just klutzed out.

` But what I really want to know is, what became of your giant tadpole???

Well, that tad pole was not mine i took a pic of it from a magazine. go do a google search for kens fish farm and see if you can find the website and you can get them to send you a free catologue. I was trying to get it ID ed but no luck on that. I am prety sure he planned it to make it look like he fell. I have seen plenty of his shows and he does it on most of them.
Cody, I knew that Jeff planted most of the snakes but I do not think Steve plants most. Maybe a few but not most. I know he does lant a few. I do not think he uses the cooled down snakes. I have talked to him and he is pretty straight forward with what he says on the shows. You can also see how lets say a mamvba for exmaple is a very aggro and fast snake well they never looked slowed down to me. He did that while making his movie but just his shows he does it very rarely if at all.

steve irwin and jeff corwin dont do any thing on there own steve uses cold snakes that r planted there and jeff also plants every animal. if u ever saw the show jeff hosted king of the jungle or something it was called he said all the trix he said he dose with planting snakes in the right spot for a good pic or redoing something. mr o'shea is the only real guy out there. o'shea will do a whole show on a snake not not find it. everything he gets is real he never redose anything to get a good shot and if the camera man is not there o well.
