Crazy snake

cmh7s Aug 23, 2004 09:30 AM

I have had my ball for 1.5 years now. He has always been pretty sedate. Lately, however, he has been going crazy with climbing and trying to push on the tank lid. This hasn't yet resulted in any abraded skin so I assume he isn't hurting himself but it's just so different. He doesn't seem to discriminate between night and day, he's just always active. Also, he'll get his front third up against the lid then fall over. I hope this is ok. Does anyone else have a crazy snake? Is there something I can do? Feeding doesn't calm him down for more than a day and I even cleaned his tank (in case the smell made him want to leave), no effect. Thanks in advance.

Check your temps, are you sure they are not too warm?

good point, also just cause it is recommended to have the hot side around 90 for most snakes it could mean that it is hotter than that snake likes.
