possible shed problem

i have a amel. corn. last shed the tail still looked dull about a half an inch worth. i thought maybee next shed it would correct itself but it did not. do corns tail look dull all the time? or do i have a problem with the shed, and what can i do to fix it?

My amel corn had that problem when she was littler. What I did was take her out and held her tail under the faucet for a moment and it moistened up and slid off. I think you can do this if it hasn't been to long after her shed. Like within a day or two. My honduran milk had the same problem.
I mist down their tanks now and the snake themselves and they have been having perfect sheds.

hiya,

yep, it happens, and yep it can cause problems if you dont help your snake out. the skin will eventually begin to restrict blood flow if it is not removed, which can lead to the loss of the tip of the tail.

either soak it in luke warm water then gently rub with a soft towel, or put the snake in with some damp spagnum moss for a while, which should moisten it up so that either you or the snake can remove it. the first is probably the easiest way.
