Hey there

Leos are insectavor(sp) and will eat only insects. The best way to get healthy veggies in them is to feed veggies to your crickets and mealworms. There are other food types to choose from such as Superworms, Waxworms, Roaches, and pinkies but for the most part their staple diet will consist of Mealworms and crix.

Actually roaches make bad leo food they are very hard for the leo to digest completly and are usually too big and pinkies she only be fed at the most twice a month(about every 2 weeks.

And you can also use silkworms and butterworms as treats i do this whenever my local pet shop gets them which is about every 2 months

There are different types of roaches you can feed. The ideal ones are soft-bodied, have more protein, and easier to digest than crickets and mealworms. I breed four different species to feed my geckos. They work pretty well for me as a staple.

There are over 3500 different species of roaches, so I'm not gonna sit here and try to list ALL the ones that are considered soft.

The most common roach feeders used for leos are lobsters (Nauphoeta cinerea), discoids (Blaberus discoidales), and orange heads (Eublaberus prosticus). I have all of those plus orange spotted roaches (Blaptica dubia).

Other roaches used for reptiles include death's head (Blaberus craniifer), six-spotted (Eublaberus distanti), and then the hissers, but all of those are too large or crunchy to feed leos. Well, maybe the death's head nymphs will work.

This is all stuff you can see just by going into the Feeder forum/classifieds.

Technicaly you saying they eat insects only is incorrect. Pinkies are no insects just being a smartass
