worried about discolouration - please help

discostu Aug 23, 2004 01:47 PM

Here is a photograph of my year old pet chuckwalla. He recently developed this white mark on his side. It only became aparant when he shed his outer layer of skin. I was hoping that one of you could let me know what you think it could be, or have ever seen anything like it before. Hes eating, defecating as normal and his behaviour is unchanged. The skin doesn't appear damaged, just discoloured.

Thanks.

Stuart.

Looks like a thermal burn.

Something similar happened to my rainbow boa. I assume she burned herself although I was never able to figure out how. The mark is on her side and it's a very unlikely place for her to have lain on a heating element. Anyway, the mark ended up turning black and is still there two years later. Boo. But at least she's ok.
