throwing up?

snooky113 Aug 23, 2004 01:48 PM

My female leo seems to be throwing up her crix or mealworms for the past few days. She has been eating the same size crix for weeks so I dont think it is a concern but she is new to the mealworms. Could they be to long and causing this or could there be another concern I am not aware of?She seems active like always. Any help would be appreciated.

Is check the temps. Usually undigested throwing up comes from too cool of temps.

if it is tto hot will that have the same effect, I think it was a bit warm in there last night but I will check, thanks

It possibly could but not likely. U want to shoot for temps of 88-90 degrees on the warm side of the leopards enclosure.

The temps today were 92 warm and 75 cool, she is on repti-carpet so she's not impacted. The crickets we have are actually a little smaller than normal, but the mealies she ate yesterday may have been too long. My other leo which is the same size and weight ate the mealies and he was fine. I'm pretty confused on this one!

Sometimes leopards have been known to GORGE themselves on mealies given the chance. This may have happened in your case. As long as the gecko doesn't do this on a continual basis I wouldn't worry. I would get rid of the repti-carpet and get them on some newsprint or paper towels. Also get that temp down to 90 degrees.

She was with a male before we new the sexes, at this young age is it possible for her to have eggs? I put her over a light in a clear container and it kinda looks like she has something in her on both side near her vent area. if this is the case she is in big trouble, she will never pass them with her size?
