mercury vapor bulbs

biig_worm Aug 23, 2004 03:50 PM

i'm looking at the big apple herp website. they have three different vapor bulbs: Capture The Sun Mercury Vapor Bulbs, Active UVHeat Mercury Vapor Lamps, and Powersun UV Mercury Vapor Lamp.
i would like to know if any one has experience with them and which one they would recommend.

also, my enclosure is 6.5 by 3.5 by 6 with insulated walls and ceiling. how many of those bulbs do you think i should use?

I would get two Powersun bulbs, I have used the Capture the Sun bulbs and they turn off and on constantly and die completely after a short time. The Powersuns last a long time, and if they die even 1 day before they are a year old ZooMed will send you a new bulb for free. Just make sure you save your reciepts and the box that the bulb came in. The powersuns also produce the most heat of any of the MVBs.
