floppy tail syndrome?!

jbachi Aug 23, 2004 09:07 PM

I have a gorgeous adult male crested. I raised him from a hatchling and at 14 months old this was his first breeding season. Recently though, he has been losing weight and not eating as vigorously. He's also taken to sleeping on the glass head down that's starting to flop his tail. I've seperated him, upped his calcium supplements, and he has plenty of hiding places in his new 30 gallon setup. I'm not sure what else I can do for him. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

mine have slept upside down before, and they're fine. floppy tail syndrome is more than your geckos tail curling over when it sleeps upside down, its looks more like the tail bone has detached where it meets the pelvis, and just flops over, rather than curl. i cant say ive seen it first hand, but from what ive read that seems to be what its like.
