I haven't seen any CBB U henks or sik. at all for about a year in the USA??

viper69 Aug 23, 2004 10:40 PM

I am so bumbed out..I was hoping someone would have bred some henks or sikkorae...or even satanics by now....but I haven't seen anyone w/any hatchlings yet, and it's already August.

I wish someone had some eggs and was willing to sell their little hatchlings once they got some size on them...oh well

I was very sad, I did not know Sindar had layed it, and I guess one of the three of them jumped on it. I found it cracked open.

Shame, as it was buried, and the shell was nice and hard , with the pattern. Unlike the 2 eggs I had found a few months back that were infertile and on the side of the glass.

But one good thing is I know now there is some ACTIVITY going on.

So I'm hoping next time will be much more productive so to speak.

I'll keep intouch ! Hows everything going with you ?

SUch a bummer to hear about your egg mishap...I guess they can be tricky in laying....oh well.

i havent had any luck this year so far, and havent even noticed any activity from my satanics. last year i was able to raise 3 cb satanics, but one developed a hemipenal prolapse so i fear he will not be able to reproduce (he was my favorite too).

i have noticed some activity lately from my spiny leaf tails, although i havent seen any eggs since the first infertile pair back in june. i have a feeling there might be some buried, and ill skim thru the substrate as soon as i get enough time to.

no, i dont plan on selling any once i do get more, unless i suddenly become overwhelmingly successful with the breeding thing. i am trying to get more of a CB base going, but having only 3 (all of which are related) isnt good enough of a start. if a year or two passes with no more luck, there is a slight chance i might unload what ive got. until then, im gonna try to find someone willing to trade some CB satanics so i can hopefully begin a second CB line. only time will tell.

if my eggs hatch and are both males i would like to trade for new bloodlines. but first i am going to try and get one of my bloodlines in a zoo, preferably one from my state. but thats in the future, and untill november, i'll keep my fingers crossed.

you're steven hoch, right? if so, i emailed you and you told me you were moving, but thats even better because you're moving just south of me! let me know when you get settled in so we can make a trade! i will be at both the NC and SC reptile shows this fall, the raleigh show will be soon.

Hey Mike,

Thought I would clear up the confusion. I am Steve hehehe Sorry I wasn’t able to get back to you, I ran out of space in my hotmail account and went on a deleting spree and mistakenly deleted your e-mail. I forgot you regularly visited the KS forums.

When is the reptile show is SC? Is it good? Are there any other good shows around here? Maybe we can trade a hatchling there.

Take it easy,
Steve

haha i knew i mixed up the screen names as soon as i saw yours. anyway, ive only gone to the SC show once, last year. the moved it from the jamil temple to the Palmetto Expo Center in downtown Greenville, and is held on the weekend of october 30th and 31st. the show i went to last year was alright, there sure were a lot of turtles, and i remember seeing a whole bunch of male satanics for sale for $45 a piece. only one female was at the show, and she was gravid, ended up producing my 3 fine babies. got her for $70 though. i dont know what to expect this year, but ill see whats up at the raleigh reptile show in a week and a half. i plan on getting a few more satanics, unless i get lucky enough to find pietschmanni again. those are really the two im after right now, and my hopes arent really up because there wasnt much at this year's spring show in raleigh, so i dont know what to expect with everyone elses comments about availability at current shows. im definitely up for the trade still!

Seriously, I understand the gecko talk, and the excitement of the eggs and hatchlings I live it daily

But just want to remind everybody all talk of trades or sales has to be kept in personal emails, guys!

Let the Gecko talk resume,

i picked up 2 baby henkeli at the last show in white plains. i got a pretty good deal on em too...120$ for both, but they were only a month old and one ended up dying a few weeks ago, it looked like the amilical cord from the egg was infected because a spot on its stomach looked red and iritated. but the other little baby is doing really good. with its patterns it looks like a sikorae baby most of the time. good luck in finding some
