do leopards lay their eggs without a male?

coldfire57 Jun 24, 2003 07:56 PM

My friend has two female leopard geckos. She is concerned that they will retain their eggs and that this will possibly harm them. How does this work? Thanks

They can lay without a male, though they just arent fertile, and wont hatch. She is talking about egg binding, and this only happens when they dont have enough calcium, or are bred too young. Since they arent even with a male, just make sure they have enough calcium and they wont get egg bound.

i have a female on her fourth clutch of infetile eggs. she has never been with a male and at the time she started ovulating was a tad to small to breed. so she lays them and i just remove em and throw em away
