Feeding (Yes, I did search and read previous posts)

Right now I am feeding my RES and my Map Turtle ReptoMin by Tetrafauna. It is the "Select-a-food" so it has 'staple diet' pellets, baby shrimp, and mini krill. The RES eats them all, but the Map turtle will only eat the shrimp and krill. There are a few guppies in the tank for food, but only the res seems interested. I also had some snails that the map eats, but the res does not seem as interested. I have them in a 20 long gallon tank now (they are about 2 inches). I realize that this is small, but I don't plan on keeping them too long. Would it be okay to release them back (I caught them about 1.5 months ago) to their river next spring (or would before it gets too cold this year be better?), or have I damaged their instincts??

I don't think you have damaged their instincts but you may have exposed them to things that could hurt the wild population. This will be controversial, I think you will get a variety of responses.

Good luck, Nancy
