Im kicking around the idea of doing some television advertising, and in an attempt to save a little money on production Im toying with the idea of doing it myself.

This is a "rough version" of one of the ideas Im kicking around. I dont really want to use footage of the shop yet, as Im still not 100% set up yet. However I feel its time to add some advertising $$$$ to help increase business. As such I dont want to wait till the stores complete to do tv adds (kinda a catch 22).

Be harsh, advertising isnt going to be cheap. As such if this looks like a lost cause Id like to hear it upfront.

NOT A BAD COMMERCIAL, BUT I'M NOT SURE THAT TV ADVERTISING IS COST EFFECTIVE FOR THE REPTILE INDUSTRY. RELATIVELY FEW PEOPLE INTERESTED IN REPTILES WILL SEE IT , UNLESS YOU SPEND AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY SENDING IT TO SEVERAL TV STATIONS AROUND THE U.S. SURE , IT MIGHT GET A FEW NONREPTILE LOVERS INTERESTED, BUT I DON'T THINK THAT IT IS COST EFFECTIVE. PERHAPS A BANNER AD ON KINGSNAKE WOULD BE BETTER AND CHEAPER IN THE LONG RUN.

but I would slow down thinks a little. Maybe it was my window but it had a bit of a strob light effect on me. I have a shop as well, but its not just reptiles(I wish it was). I didn't have a lot of faith in TV but it does bring in a lot of traffic. Not always the kind you want, but it gets your name out. I don't have much experience with cable but the local channels worked well for me. I would ask for Nelson ratings though. If the station says they don't pay attention to them, they probably suck.

...I like it. It will catch people's attention and they will tell anyone they know who is interested in reptiles. We have had an excellent reptile store here in Savannah for a couple years and I am amazed that there are still many people who do not know about it.

Well Im up to my 6th version of the commercial now. I think this one flows a little better then the first one. I still have to add a voice over, and some music to it.

I was able to watch in on a 40" screen last night, and all the pictures stay crystal clear, so thats good to know. The letters are also a good deal easier to read on the bigger screen.

It may flow a little funny online if you dont have a dsl.
